Best Law Firm Rankings USA 2026: Intellectual Property

US Intellectual Property is the clearest case for the specialist guides in the whole Law Firm Rankings Report dataset. It is also the only US practice area where three different rankings share the top score – two of them IP-only publications. For an IP practice deciding where to submit, this is the deciding evidence.
IP, IT, TMT and Media – who leads?
In Intellectual Property, three rankings share the top score of 9.3: IAM 1000, MIP and Chambers and Partners. Legal 500 follows one tenth behind at 9.2. The reading is not that Legal 500 is weak, but that an IP practice which submits only to the generalists leaves two equally rated channels unused.
The neighbouring technology areas behave differently. In IT and TMT, Chambers and Legal 500 are exactly level at 9.3 – no winner. In Media they are level again, at 9.1, the lowest pair in this cluster. Leaders League rates 5.8 to 5.9 throughout.
