ChatGPT training for law firms
Many lawyers already use ChatGPT — mostly as a chat window for individual questions. The greater benefit lies elsewhere: in projects with your own documents, in reusable skills and in tasks that ChatGPT works through over several steps in Work mode. Our ChatGPT training takes your team from individual prompts to delegating more complex tasks — with clear rules for client documents.
We train live online, as a team or one-to-one, and on request set up projects, skills and plugins for your firm.
From chat to delegated task
The three stages of the training: each builds on the previous one.
What we cover in the training
Agentic work: how a delegated task runs
Steps in gold: this is where responsibility stays with the lawyer.
What the training covers
- Framing tasksGoal, context, format: how to describe a task clearly to obtain output suitable for professional review.
- Projects and custom instructionsSet up projects for recurring matter types and use custom instructions and memory deliberately — or switch them off.
- Skills and pluginsStore firm standards as skills, use plugins and plan the move away from custom GPTs, which OpenAI plans to retire.
- Agentic work with ChatGPT WorkHand over multi-step tasks, follow the interim steps, step in and review the result.
- Research with Deep ResearchCommission research, verify sources and recognise the limits.
- Confidentiality and data protectionWhich documents belong in which plan, which settings exist and how your firm records this in an internal policy.
Which plan for law firms?
- According to OpenAI, data from these plans is not used for training by default.
- Managed by the firm: permissions, apps and features can be controlled in the workspace.
- Skills, plugins and apps can be shared in the workspace.
- According to OpenAI, content may be used for training; you can opt out.
- No central management by the firm.
- For client documents only after a deliberate decision by the firm.

Frequently asked questions about ChatGPT training
We already use ChatGPT. Is training worthwhile?
Yes, if ChatGPT has mainly been used as a chat window so far. Projects, skills and Work mode change which tasks can be handed over — and which rules are needed for that.
Which ChatGPT plan do we need?
Any ChatGPT plan is sufficient for introductory training. Hands-on exercises involving projects, skills, plugins or ChatGPT Work require access to the relevant features. For work with client documents we will mainly consider ChatGPT Business and Enterprise with you. Current details are available at chatgpt.com/pricing.
What happens to our custom GPTs?
OpenAI plans to retire custom GPTs and recommends moving to plugins. We show how to prepare for and carry out the migration of your custom GPTs, test the migrated functionality and identify any integrations that need to be rebuilt.
Can we put client documents into ChatGPT?
That is your firm’s decision, and we do not take it for you. In the training we show which plans and settings exist and how to set up an internal rule for it.
How much does ChatGPT training cost?
That depends on the format and number of participants. After a free initial meeting you will receive an individual offer.
