Legal 500 EMEA with new deadlines and forms for this year
Legal 500 has now announced the deadlines for EMEA for 2024. The submissions must be send in by 5.8. Fortunately, Legal 500 does not separate the deadlines between client referees and submissions, as is the case with Legal 500 Germany (here is the complete analysis: Legal 500 Germany now with two (!) different submission deadlines | Law Business).
Exemptions are, of course, again the Nordics. Here Client Referees must be sent in until the 5.8. but the submissions can be sent in until the 30.8.
In addition to the new logo, Legal 500 has made a few notable changes (see correction mode in the screenshots) to the submission form.
"Partners" instead of "Individuals" and "Associates" instead of "Rising Stars"
It is understandable that Legal 500 would like to have a clearer division of roles here. Thus, law firms should not “merely” indicate indiviuals. They just have to be “partners”.
However, the complete absence of “Rising Star” is mysterious. After all, Legal 500 has its own “Rising Star” and “Leading Individual” ranking, as can be seen on this screenshot from Legal 500:
So either Legal 500 wants to combine the “Leading individuals” and “Rising stars” into one ranking, or there will be a new assessment of who falls into which category. With the latter, however, it will be exciting to see how Legal 500 wants to make an allocation here.
Clear indication of a better description of the matters
It couldn’t be clearer: law firms are once again explicitly asked to state exactly what is special and worth mentioning about the matters in the matters descriptions.
