Negotiation training for lawyers details
Key points of our negotiation training
Our areas of application for negotiation training
- Purchasing negotiations with external and internal (group) vendors
- Basics of negotiation techniques
- Court hearings
- Fundamental problems faced by lawyers in negotiations
- Price negotiations for legal services
- Negotiations within the partnership
- Negotiations within practice groups
- Contract negotiations
In these training courses, negotiation techniques are presented and trained specifically with regard to the defined area of application, whereby the basic training course provides a general overview of negotiation techniques.
Which topics are covered within the areas of application
- Analyzing the personality structure of the other party (negotiation types)
- Analysis methods (e.g. confirmation questions, blockade breakers, etc.)
- Define the negotiation objectives: BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement), WATNA (Worst Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement) and ZOPA (Zone of Possible Agreement)
- Create your own profile (e.g. where are my pain points, how do I react to pressure, tempo changes, etc.) and the profiles of others
- Recognizing false information
- Asking the right questions - analysis through questions
- Listening properly and staying calm under pressure
- Negotiating with the powerful
General approach for all training courses
- All topics are first explained in theory.
- Each theoretical explanation is followed by practical examples.
- After the practical examples, case studies will be run through with selected / volunteered participants.
- In the case studies, participants and presenters slip into different roles that pursue specific tasks and objectives.
- After completing the training, participants receive the seminar documents.
Face-to-face event or online training
- We carry out both variants.
- Although face-to-face events have a higher impact rate, the effect of online training is also very high.
- Online training courses also have the advantage that smaller groups of e.g. seven people can be trained flexibly, e.g. on 10 days a month, if there are a large number of participants. This means that 45 people do not have to be blocked for 2 ½ days, for example.
- However, as smaller groups are always the better choice, splitting large groups into smaller online training sessions is highly recommended.
